ACCIONA’s Transmission team seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator for substations and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You’ll develop accurate cost estimates for HV projects, coordinate procurement, and manage risk across national tenders, applying advanced estimating tools.

With 6+ years in engineering and 4+ years in infrastructure estimating, you’ll shape bid strategies, support stakeholders, and deliver compliant proposals for complex electrical infrastructure endeavours.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or a Trade Electrical qualification with on-site experience.
• 6+ years' experience in engineering, project delivery, or related technical roles within infrastructure, utilities, or construction.
• Includes a minimum of 4+ years' estimating experience on major infrastructure projects, preferably transmission lines, HV systems, substations, or electrical infrastructure.
• Proficient in CCS/Candy, Expert Estimation, Excel, and Power BI.
• First Principles estimating skills, ability to interpret drawings.

Responsabilités

• Develop cost estimates for HV substations (AIS/GIS) and BESS from first principles (materials, plant, labour, subcontractor pricing).
• Coordinate procurement and tendering strategies, including subcontractor pricing and bid meetings.
• Conduct risk assessments and manage provisional sums/contingency allowances.
• Prepare estimate basis documents, WBS, and bridging documents for cost tracking.
• Present estimates and cost reports to senior management and clients.
• Apply CCS/Candy, Expert Estimation, Excel, and Power BI for estimating and reporting.

About the Opportunity/Position

The Senior Electrical Estimator – Substations/BESS develops accurate, timely, and compliant cost estimates and proposals for electrical infrastructure projects. The role's primary focus is on high-voltage substations (AIS/GIS) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

As part of a national transmission and energy team, the estimator supports tenders across multiple regions, bringing specialist expertise in substations and energy storage systems, including grid connections and balance-of-plant scope.

What are the key accountabilities for the position?
