Job summary

Randstad Australia partners with a market-leading South Australian manufacturing and automation specialist to appoint an experienced Manufacturing Estimator. The role focuses on technical and commercial estimation for LV switchboards and automation control systems across Australia.

You will work with Estimation Manager and Project Delivery teams to develop cost-effective bids, produce BOMs, review CAD schematics, and source supplier quotes while ensuring bids are profitable and buildable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or status as a qualified Electrician/Rigger (as per REW)
• Proven experience estimating LV switchboards, MCCs, or electrical automation control cabinets
• Strong cost estimation, supplier pricing negotiations, contract review and risk assessment
• Proficiency with Excel-based estimating packages; exposure to Expert Estimation and AutoCAD electrical drawings

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and commercial estimation for LV switchboards and automation control systems
• Dissect tender docs and client specifications to establish clear scopes of work
• Produce BOMs and cost build-ups from CAD schematics
• Source supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, and identify alternate technical solutions
• Collaborate with project teams to align tender promises with build reality
• Utilize estimating tools to monitor bid budgets and timelines
