Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting an Electrical Estimation Manager for our client in Sydney. You will take full ownership of the estimation department within the Transmission substation and renewable energy markets in Australia.

You will lead cost estimation for large-scale projects, collaborate across internal teams and external stakeholders, and mentor junior estimators to support growth and delivery of high-profile projects.

Qualifications

• Strong background in electrical estimation within energy, with proven record in Transmission substation and renewable energy markets (Australia).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
• Expertise in cost analysis and budgeting for large-scale projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with internal/external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in estimation software and project-management tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for electrical projects within the energy industry.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather necessary project information.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering options.
• Prepare and present estimation reports to support decision-making processes.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of costs for materials, labour, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations during the estimation process.
• Support the project team during bid negotiations and contract finalisations.
• Help the organisation to grow, coach and mentor other estimators across multiple disciplines
