Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is essential.
• Chartered Professional Engineer status or eligibility is preferred.
• Registered Professional Engineer status (RPEQ) or equivalent is highly regarded.
• Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in electrical design and project delivery, including senior/lead roles.
• Experience across heavy industry, mining, energy, utilities or infrastructure environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, control systems and protection schemes.
• Experience mentoring engineering teams and delivering engineering deliverables.
• Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, PLAN, ETAP or PowerFactory.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review estimation and quoting of complex electrical systems (power distribution, control, instrumentation).
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, designers and drafters across project lifecycles.
• Develop, implement and maintain engineering design standards, specifications and best practices.
• Ensure electrical designs comply with Australian and international standards (AS/NZS, IEC, IEEE).
• Manage and oversee electrical products engineering deliverables to meet timelines and budgets.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments and audits for compliance and performance.
• Coordinate design interfaces across mechanical, civil and control systems disciplines.
• Support suppliers and clients with technical input, estimates and resource planning.
• Drive innovation in electrical design, energy efficiency, automation and digital engineering.
• Mentor junior and senior engineers to foster high performance.
• Promote safety, quality and engineering excellence.
