Job summary

Stantec Australia in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Buildings Team on a full-time basis. You will contribute to delivery across a range of building projects, applying technical expertise and leading design deliverables.

Joining a multidisciplinary team, you will mentor graduates, manage client relationships, and oversee project delivery from concept to commissioning, with flexible work options and strong emphasis on professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering is required (RPEQ preferred).
• Experience delivering building services projects in a consulting environment is essential.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills are required.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineers and graduates.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage projects from master planning to installation and commissioning.
• Provide electrical design for building projects, including reports, studies, calculations, drawings and specs.
• Demonstrate technical knowledge and provide oversight to ensure delivery.
• Represent Stantec to clients and manage external relationships.
• Support engineers and graduates to perform successfully.
• Liaise with authorities and contractors.

Job description

Stantec are very busy with numerous iconic and exciting projects across Australia.We are currently seeking a motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our friendly and supportive Brisbane Buildings Team on a full-time basis. You will be a part of our multi-disciplinary team working across various building projects.

The successful candidate will be able to apply their technical skills and demonstrate commitment in a way which ensures projects are thoroughly designed, personally reviewed and delivered on time. You will be expected to service projects including those of relatively large size, of high complexity and with multiple clients.

Stantec are involved in a vast variety of project types including data centres, health, defence, high-rise, industrial, education etc. The successful candidate will be working in a strong team environment and will need to manage several projects at any one time. You will be self-motivated, resourceful and a great communicator.

The role will enable the successful candidate to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a challenging and rewarding career path in a successful global consultancy. You can choose to focus on either technical project delivery or business development, or even excel in both areas, based on your strengths and interests.

Day to day tasks would involve

Planning and managing projects from initial master planning, concept and brief, through to installation and commissioning.

Demonstrate technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery.

Support and offer guidance to Engineers and Graduates to enable them to perform successfully at all levels.

Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships.

Provide Electrical designs for a range of building projects, including reports, studies, design calculations, mark-up’s, drawings and specifications

Prepare presentations and present to external clients

Liaise with authorities and contractors

To be successful for this role you'll need

Have a bachelor degree of Electrical Engineering and ideally hold RPEQ

Have around 7 years experience working in a Consulting environment within the Building services industry in Queensland

Ideally be confident in business development or willingness to establish and maintain strong client relationships to formulate repeat opportunities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Positive, can-do attitude, team player and strong work ethic
