Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead hands-on LV electrical or communications work across diverse infrastructure projects in Brisbane. You will produce calculations, drawings, and specifications while guiding junior staff, and ensure designs meet Australian Standards and Arup quality protocols.

The Opportunity

• Deliver hands‑on LV electrical or communications services across multidisciplinary infrastructure project, including production of calculations, drawings and specifications while guiding junior team members.
• Review and verify designs completed by others in areas where you hold assessed competency.
• Manage design activities in alignment with Arup’s Design Management Manual and Quality Management System.
• Lead significant and complex electrical or communications design packages, including resource planning, project coordination and representation at internal and external meetings.
• Contribute to long‑term strategic planning, including potential involvement in team performance management, budgeting, and commercial negotiations with clients.

Is this role right for you?

• Recognised tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Telecommunication Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with experience in one or more key infrastructure electrical or communication systems such as LV distribution, lighting and control system, Intelligent Transport System or Traffic Signal .
• Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards, legislation, authority requirements and industry best practice.
• Experience working on large multidisciplinary engineering projects—within a consulting environment, supported by familiarity with relevant design and modelling software.
• Excellent communication and technical skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders and an appreciation of broader engineering disciplines.
• Professional engineering chartership or progression toward Chartered Status, coupled with proven knowledge of OH&S and quality procedures and a commitment to high‑quality, safe, and sustainable design outcomes.
