Job summary

Fetch Recruitment represents a well-known T1 Electrical Contractor seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Melbourne team. The role focuses on high-value commercial projects across the country, with a growing design team to meet a busy 2027 program.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of senior electrical design experience and be a Registered Professional Engineer able to sign off designs. This is a full-time position requiring project leadership from concept through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior electrical engineering role within commercial construction.
• Registered Professional Engineer able to sign off design.
• Experience on high-value packages for commercial construction, data centre, infrastructure or healthcare sectors.

Responsibilities

• Produce concept and detailed electrical designs aligned with client requirements.
• Participate in meetings, prepare progress reports and follow checking procedures.
• Ensure project scope clarity and adherence to change management processes.
• Provide procurement, construction and commissioning support as required.
• Complete concept reviews and detailed designs for large-scale projects.
• Contribute to delivery of electrical design components from inception to completion.
• Apply problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions for clients.

My client, a well-known T1 Electrical Contractor with a national presence in Australia are looking to appoint a new Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Melbourne team.

After a number of successful tender wins for major builders across the commercial construction, data centre, infrastructure and healthcare sectors, 2027 is looking very busy for the company and as such the design team needs to grow.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar level position working on high value packages of work in the commercial construction world, be that with a consultant or contracting background.

You must be a Registered Professional Engineer and able to sign off design.

General Duties will include:

• Produce concept and detailed designs in line with client requirements
• Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures;
• Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes;
• Provide assistance during procurement, construction and commissioning stages
• Complete concept reviews and undertaking detailed designs
• Participate in the delivery of electrical design components of large-scale projects from inception to completion
• Utilise your problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions
• Work with clients across the country, as well as on major national defence projects
