Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a local government professional to lead the development of its Economic Development Strategy, progress the 24-Hour Economy Plan, and manage a team turning research into practical action. You will work with planning, urban design and heritage professionals to respond to growth, support local employment and attract investment.

Qualifications

• Experience in economic development, planning, policy, urban strategy or consulting.
• Ability to lead people, build partnerships and deliver practical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Analyse economic data and prepare advice for senior leaders and Councillors.
• Meet with businesses, education providers and government agencies to discuss opportunities.
• Facilitate workshops and develop funding proposals.
• Build relationships across Council and with external stakeholders.
• Oversee projects and coach staff to ensure timely delivery.
