Qualifications

• Experience as a regulator or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of regulating the ECEC sector.
• Experience in conducting assessment and rating or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and complete training in conducting assessment and rating.
• Ability to analyse evidence and create analyses.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to prioritise and complete projects and tasks efficiently.
• Decision-making skills; ability to manage risk and prioritise the work.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of different stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Apply relevant early childhood education and care (ECEC) legislation, standards, policies and guidelines fairly and consistently when undertaking regulatory functions within the context of the Regulating for Quality policy.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with ECEC providers and services, government agencies and other stakeholders to achieve regulatory objectives.
• The Senior Regulatory Officer reports to the Manager, Far North Queensland Region, Early Childhood Regional Operations, Early Childhood, Regulation and Communication Division.
• Evidence of a current Blue Card and a valid driver licence must be submitted with the application.
