Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Australia is seeking an experienced senior software engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using .NET Core/.NET 6+ and modern front-end tech. You will build RESTful APIs, microservices, and collaborate across architecture, DevOps, and product teams.

The role requires 7+ years of hands-on software development, strong .NET/C#, frontend JS frameworks, and cloud/CI/CD experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on software development and application support.
• Strong expertise in .NET Core / .NET 6/7/8 and C#.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure web applications.
• Develop and enhance full-stack solutions with high quality and reliability.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations.
• Write clean, reusable, and testable code following standards.
• Develop responsive UIs using Angular, React, or Vue.js.
• Integrate with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
• Participate in architecture reviews and technology selections.
• Provide code reviews and guidance to junior/mid developers.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, UX, and DevOps to deliver solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot production issues and contribute to improvements.
• Support cloud-native deployments and CI/CD on Azure or AWS.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications using .NET Core / .NET 6+ and modern front-end technologies.
• Develop and enhance full-stack solutions, ensuring high quality and reliability.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations.
• Write clean, reusable, and testable code following coding standards and best practices.
• Develop responsive user interfaces using Angular, React, or Vue.js.
• Integrate applications with relational and NoSQL databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Participate in solution architecture, technical design reviews, and technology selection discussions.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA teams, UX designers, and DevOps engineers to deliver business solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support cloud-native deployments, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure modernization on Azure or AWS.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and promote knowledge-sharing across teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in software development and application support.
• Strong expertise in:
• .NET Core / .NET 6/7/8
• C# and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• RESTful APIs and Microservices Architecture
• Front-end development experience with one or more of:
• Angular, React, or Vue.js
• SQL Server, Entity Framework Core, LINQ, Stored Procedures
• Experience working with cloud platforms:
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Proficiency with Git version control, branching strategies, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, clean architecture, and secure coding practices.
• Excellent debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies and collaborative development environments.
