Job summary

Zinfra is seeking a Senior Distribution Design Engineer to join our Distribution Services team. This role combines hands-on technical design with team leadership to guide complex LV to 66kV distribution projects and mentor a team of Distribution Designers.

Based across Victoria, you will provide technical direction, drive design reviews, manage stakeholder relationships and contribute to business growth and continuous improvement while embracing flexible, hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with RPEV, Chartered status or equivalent.
• Extensive distribution design experience in the Victorian electricity industry (VESI).
• Overhead and underground network design experience and standards.
• Proficient with design tools: nPoles, AutoCAD, MicroStation or Neara.
• Demonstrated leadership and people development capability.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and project delivery skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Distribution Design Engineer to join our growing Distribution Services team. This role combines hands-on technical design with team leadership, giving you the opportunity to lead complex distribution projects while mentoring and supporting a team of Distribution Designers.

Working across major Victorian electricity network clients, you'll provide technical direction, drive quality outcomes, build strong stakeholder relationships and help shape the future growth of the team.

About You

You're a technically capable engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, leading by example and helping others succeed. You will bring:

• Degree-qualified Engineer with RPEV, Chartered status or equivalent.
• Strong experience in distribution design within the Victorian electricity industry (VESI).
• Expertise in overhead and underground network design and standards.
• Experience using design tools such as nPoles, AutoCAD, MicroStation or Neara.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring or people development experience.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and project delivery skills.

This role is ideal for an established technical leader or a Senior Design Engineer ready to take the next step into people leadership while staying close to the technical work.
