FrankieOne is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join a small, high-impact team. You will own infrastructure work end-to-end, wrangling Lambda, writing Terraform, and helping design major service capabilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and running secure, highly available web applications and integration services in AWS.
• Hands-on experience with containerised services in AWS ECS, including setup, security, management and monitoring.
• Solid working knowledge of Terraform.
• Good grasp of AWS networking fundamentals.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar.
• Scripting in Python, TypeScript or Bash.
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms.
• Comfort working in Linux environments day to day.
• Experience with using coding agents on production work (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex).
• AWS certifications highly regarded (DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect).

Responsibilities

• Own projects end to end, collaborating with the DevSecOps Lead on scope and approach.
• Build tooling, guardrails and patterns to enable safe use of agents across engineering.
• Solve operational issues and build automation with product owners.
• Manage end-to-end deployment processes and maintain CI/CD practices with the development team.
• Work with security to implement and improve controls and posture.
• Continuously improve the service and technology stack.
• Collaborate with the VP of Engineering and Head of Security.
• Participate in on-call rotation (one week in six, remunerated).

We want someone who is genuinely excited about this shift, has opinions about where agents help and where they fall over, and wants to push how far we can take it.

Who we are looking for

We're looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our small, high-impact team. This isn't a role where you blend into the background. On a small team, everything you do is amplified.

Banks and other security-conscious organisations trust us with sensitive data. The security, stability and reliability of our operations is paramount.

You're comfortable owning a piece of work end to end, asking questions when the path isn't obvious, and making sensible calls without waiting to be told. You'll have a Lead who backs you, reviews your thinking and gives you room to grow.

You're also happy to get your hands dirty. Wrangling Lambda functions, writing Terraform, and helping design and build infrastructure for major new service capabilities.

You have

• At least 3 years building and running secure, highly available web applications and integration services in AWS.
• Hands-on experience with containerised services in AWS ECS, covering setup, security, management and monitoring.
• Solid working knowledge of Terraform.
• A good grasp of AWS networking fundamentals.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar.
• Confident scripting in at least one of Python, TypeScript or Bash.
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms.
• Comfort working in Linux environments day to day.
• Real experience using coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex on production work.
• AWS certifications highly regarded, for example DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect.

Nice to haves

• Experience with spec-driven development.
• Experience building MCP servers or other agent tooling.
• Experience with autonomous sandboxed coding agents.
• Experience with Cloudflare.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• An interest in platform engineering and developer experience.

You will

• Own projects through to delivery, working closely with the DevSecOps Lead on scope and approach.
• Use agents heavily in your own work, and help the rest of engineering do the same by building the tooling, guardrails and patterns that make it safe.
• Work with team members and product owners to solve operational issues and build automation and improvements.
• Manage end-to-end deployment processes and maintain our CI/CD practices alongside the development team.
• Work with our security function on implementation and remediation, tightening controls, implementing policies and improving our security posture.
• Keep improving the service and technology stack.
• Work closely with the DevSecOps Lead, VP of Engineering and Head of Security.
• Participate in on-call rotation, one week in every six, remunerated.

What success looks like

First month: full induction. You'll understand the company culture, the product, the codebase and your team. You'll have all the tools you need, including your AI tooling set up the way you like it, and we'll aim to have you making your first meaningful contribution to production infrastructure inside two weeks.

By 3 months: you've added your own stamp to the infrastructure. You're making real improvements to our infrastructure and security posture, working with less oversight and building trust with the team and wider stakeholders.

By 6 months: you're delivering a significant piece of work from scoping through to production, spotting problems before they bite and bringing solutions to the team. You've found at least one thing an agent should be doing for us that isn't yet, and made it happen.
