Job summary

TheDriveGroup in Sydney is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the modernisation of a growing cloud environment. You will own AWS infrastructure, Terraform patterns, and automation, moving from manual processes to IaC while collaborating with Data & AI teams.

You’ll work in a regulated environment with an emphasis on security, governance and cross-team collaboration, shaping the platform's evolution and cloud strategy.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AWS engineering is essential.
• Advanced Terraform / Infrastructure as Code skills required.
• Experience with AWS Landing Zones or equivalent.
• Strong cloud architecture, networking, IAM and security knowledge.
• Git and CI/CD experience required.
• Exposure to Azure.
• Experience modernising manual or legacy cloud environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.
• Confident in engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to challenge and improve existing approaches.

Responsibilities

Job description

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who wants genuine ownership and the opportunity to help modernise a growing cloud environment.

You’ll join a small internal technology team within a highly regulated organisation, helping move the environment away from manual infrastructure management towards AWS, Terraform, automation and Infrastructure as Code.

The Opportunity You’ll work end-to-end across AWS engineering, architecture, security, governance and automation, with the opportunity to influence how the platform evolves.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Designing and building AWS infrastructure using Terraform
• Evolving AWS Landing Zones and multi-account environments
• Moving infrastructure from ClickOps Infrastructure as Code
• Building reusable Terraform patterns, standards and guardrails
• Working across cloud networking, IAM, security and governance
• Automating infrastructure delivery through GitHub Enterprise / CI/CD
• Supporting Azure and progressively bringing infrastructure into IaC
• Working closely with Data & AI teams on new AWS capabilities
