Job summary

Bega Valley Shire Council is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to assess the impact of development on BVSC’s public infrastructure and ensure infrastructure and assets are designed, approved and constructed to required standards.

The role provides technical engineering advice to planning and building assessment staff and ensures compliance with consent conditions, including final approval for certificates.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of five years of relevant related experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Advanced understanding of urban and rural subdivision design including water, sewer, stormwater and pavements.

Responsibilities

• Assess impact of development on BVSC’s public infrastructure and ensure infrastructure and assets are designed, approved and constructed to required standards.
• Provide technical engineering advice to planning and building assessment staff.
• Ensure compliance with conditions of consent and provide final approval for issue of certificates.
