Senior Delivery Manager (More than a traditional Project Manager)
Enterprise Digital Solutions – Brisbane, Hybrid

Lead the delivery, not just the plan. Step into a unique new Senior Delivery Manager opportunity with PhoenixDX as we grow our Queensland presence, joining a great team with with an exemplary delivery record and client satisfaction. powered by tight, mission‑driven delivery squads that build enterprise‑grade solutions on market‑leading low‑code and cloud technology for major Queensland clients.
Lead a flagship, enterprise‑grade digital solution for a major Queensland client with PhoenixDX, where you’ll own outcomes, shape the roadmap and work as one team in a flexible Brisbane‑based hybrid model.
This is not a traditional project manager role – you’ll own delivery outcomes, ways of working and the client relationship, acting as a senior delivery and engagement lead rather than just running a plan and risk/issues registers.

Why this role

Deliver mission‑critical, enterprise‑grade applications for public sector and ASX‑listed customers, using modern low‑code and cloud to ship in months, not years.

Join one of Australia’s Great Place to Work‑certified digital innovation companies, known for successful delivery and the most experienced, capable OutSystems engineers in APAC, with a tight‑knit team and strong focus on trust, support and growth.

Work in a supportive team where people know each other’s strengths, bring strong working bonds from prior successful delivery projects, and are recognised as leaders in delivering enterprise solutions on OutSystems and modern cloud technology; as the team has grown, we’ve built a strong history of welcoming new members and helping them feel at home.

What you’ll lead

End‑to‑end delivery of a new enterprise‑grade solution for a Queensland client, from discovery and detailed requirements through build, integration, testing and go‑live.

A blended PhoenixDX/client delivery squad in Brisbane (hybrid), bringing together BAs, UX, engineers, architects and QA as one high‑performing team.

Strong program and commercial management practices, including budget, resources, scope, change requests, status reporting and working closely with our sales team on scoping and proposals.

What you’ll do
three dimensions (Plan – Deliver – Engage)

P OWNERSHIP – Project management (owning the plan)

Shape and maintain the delivery roadmap, milestones and scope, balancing speed, quality, compliance and business value, and assessing the impact of issues and changes on cost, time and resources.

Ensure strong program management practices: managing budget, timelines, resources, scope, change requests, risks/issues and regular, accurate status reporting.

Manage time‑and‑materials, managed services and fixed‑price projects, with weekly planning and follow‑up on team utilisation, quality of delivery and revenue projections.

D OWNERSHIP – Delivery leadership (owning how the work gets done)

Apply and tailor the OutSystems Delivery Methodology with agile techniques (Scrum/Kanban) for each engagement, including backlog management with the customer PO, regular demos, feedback cycles and retrospectives.

Facilitate communication between business and technical stakeholders, lead distributed teams, and provide delivery and agile coaching so the team is unblocked and improving continuously.

Ensure non‑functional robustness and quality through involvement in analysis, test planning, test coordination and quality control, and manage a smooth transition into support or managed services.

E OWNERSHIP – Engagement / client leadership (owning the relationship and value)

Manage the client relationship and represent the customer’s business within the delivery team, owning business requirements and translating customer needs into clear, testable requirements and a managed backlog.

Help shape engagements from the outset: assist in scoping projects, framing issues, contributing to proposals and onboarding team members to set up the delivery for success.

Act as a senior delivery and engagement lead for a key account, focusing on long‑term outcomes, satisfaction and identifying opportunities for follow‑on work that genuinely help the customer.

What you bring

Attributes

Outcome‑driven, with a calm, practical approach to complex, high‑visibility programs and a strong sense of ownership for delivery and growth on enterprise accounts.

Strong collaborator and communicator who builds trust quickly with customers and enjoys working in blended PhoenixDX/client teams.

Strategic, creative thinker with a consulting mindset, comfortable challenging constructively, thinking out‑of‑the‑box and aligning teams around customer value.

Experience

7+ years’ experience in technical project management and delivery of complex enterprise software or digital solutions, ideally in public sector or other highly governed environments.

Experience delivering web applications and solution designs across the full software development life cycle, with verifiable experience using agile methodologies.

Preferably, you have come up through the ranks in software development, business analysis, software engineering or product management, and are comfortable engaging deeply with technical and product teams as well as business stakeholders.

Hands‑on background in requirements gathering and business analysis, plus experience with test planning, test coordination and testing practices.

OutSystems project experience is highly regarded; OutSystems certifications and product delivery experience are ideal differentiators.

Skills

Excellent organisational, time‑management and project management skills, with advanced delivery management across planning, dependency management and accountability for time, scope, quality and benefits.

Excellent presentation and communication skills, strong customer‑facing and interpersonal skills, and the ability to facilitate senior stakeholder forums and steer decisions.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, goal orientation, and a track record of managing enterprise accounts for both successful delivery and ongoing growth.

PMP and/or agile certification (e.g. Scrum, SAFe) is ideal, along with experience working in consulting environments.

Full‑time, permanent role based in Brisbane, with flexible hybrid work (mix of client site, PhoenixDX office and work from home).

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, plus support for learning and certifications (including OutSystems and agile).

PhoenixDX is an equal‑opportunity employer and welcomes applications from people with the right skills and mindset for the role; recruitment decisions are based on merit, team fit and shared values.

Many of our government clients require Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain an Australian Government security clearance (Baseline or above). Please indicate your current citizenship and clearance status when applying.

If you’re a senior delivery leader who loves complex work, empowered teams and real‑world impact, PhoenixDX would like to hear from you.
