Job summary

UltraTalent is seeking two Senior Delivery Consultants to join its AWS-focused Professional Services practice. These roles demand deep mainframe expertise paired with cloud migration know-how, delivering complex mainframe-to-cloud modernisation programs for enterprise clients.

The consultants will assess estates, design strategies, and lead hands-on migrations while advising architects and stakeholders. AI-assisted transformation experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mainframe experience (z/OS, COBOL, PL/I, JCL, CICS, IMS, DB2, VSAM).
• 3+ years AWS or equivalent cloud experience, ideally across migration and modernisation.
• Experience with AWS Mainframe Modernization, DMS, SCT, Step Functions and/or Lambda.
• Mainframe modernisation across replatforming, cloud-native refactoring or automated code transformation.
• Experience migrating DB2, IMS or VSAM to cloud-native databases (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB).
• Strong customer-facing consulting capability across complex enterprise transformation programs.
• Exposure to AI-assisted code analysis, transformation or Generative AI tools would be highly regarded.

We're looking for two Senior Mainframe Modernisation Consultants to join a highly experienced AWS Professional Services environment, working with major enterprise customers on complex mainframe-to-cloud transformation programs.

This is a deeply technical, hands-on consulting role for someone who can combine traditional mainframe expertise with modern AWS architecture and migration capabilities.

The opportunity:

You'll work directly with major banks and telco clients to assess, design and deliver mainframe migration and modernisation solutions on AWS, supporting complex legacy transformation programs from initial assessment through to implementation.

You'll be responsible for:

• Assessing existing mainframe estates, application portfolios and dependencies
• Designing modernisation strategies across re-platforming, refactoring and re-engineering
• Leading hands-on implementation and migration activities
• Advising customer architects, engineering teams and senior stakeholders

What we're looking for:

You'll bring strong experience across both traditional mainframe environments and modern cloud technologies, including:

• 3+ years' AWS or equivalent cloud experience, ideally across migration and modernisation
• Experience with AWS Mainframe Modernization, DMS, SCT, Step Functions and/or Lambda
• Mainframe modernisation experience across replatforming, cloud-native refactoring or automated code transformation
• Experience migrating DB2, IMS or VSAM environments into cloud-native databases such as RDS, Aurora or DynamoDB
