Job summary

Amazon Sydney, NSW, AU is seeking a Senior Delivery Consultant to lead hands-on software delivery and cloud-architecture engagements within AWS Professional Services. You will deliver end-to-end solutions, modernise legacy apps, and build cloud-native systems across frontends and backends using agentic technologies.

You will work with diverse teams, design scalable architectures, and champion AI-driven software development to accelerate delivery while ensuring quality and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of customer-facing consulting experience leading, designing and implementing software solutions with strong foundations in system design.
• Experience with application modernisation patterns and strategies, including refactoring and re-platforming techniques.
• Experience with one or more modern relational or NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, DynamoDB), including data modelling and query optimisation.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices patterns at scale.
• Experience with AWS technologies, including designing, deploying, and operating cloud-native solutions.

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Delivery Consultant with software engineering and cloud architecture expertise to deliver consulting engagements within AWS Professional Services.

The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that helps customers realize their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We work together with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives. Our team provides assistance through a collection of offerings which help customers achieve specific outcomes related to enterprise cloud adoption.

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong background in API design and implementation (e.g. REST, GraphQL, gRPC), including working with identity protocols such as OIDC, OAuth 2.0
• Knowledge of vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation, embedding pipelines
• Understanding of AI agent architectures, development patterns, protocols (e.g. MCP, A2A) and multi-agent systems
• Strong proficiency in DevOps and observability tools (e.g. GitLab CI, OpenTelemetry, Grafana) with focus on operational excellence
• Experience with one or more modern front-end frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Angular), including component-based architecture and state management
