Job summary

Australian Department of Defence – Canberra ACT is seeking an EL 2 Project Director within the Offshore Patrol and Specialist Ships Branch. You will lead the delivery of multiple complex projects that support Australia’s national defence objectives, operating with independence and providing authoritative advice to executives and stakeholders.

You will build and maintain strong relationships across Defence and industry, drive continuous improvement, and foster a high-performing, inclusive team

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of multiple complex projects within the Offshore Patrol and Specialist Ships branch to support national defence objectives.
• Provide governance, commercial, financial, schedule, risk and stakeholder management across projects.
• Translate strategic direction into achievable outcomes, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to required quality.
• Advise senior executives, industry partners and government stakeholders on complex project and capability issues.
• Foster a high-performing, inclusive workforce with accountability, collaboration and excellence in project delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement and manage supplier relationships in dynamic, often ambiguous environments.
