Job summary

CFS is seeking a Lead Engineer to design, implement and maintain a modern data platform. You will drive scalable, secure data processing and provide technical guidance across the AI & Data division, collaborating with teams to deliver trusted insights.

Experience with Databricks, Fabric, Terraform and Azure is essential, with a focus on CI/CD pipelines and governance. The role is based in Sydney with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, building and managing scalable, secure data platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based data engineering and modern architectures.
• Hands-on with Databricks, Fabric, Terraform and Azure; IaC and DR management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CFS’s data platform infrastructure.
• Support reliable, scalable data processing across business units.
• Provide technical strategy and solutions to improve data engineering capabilities.
• Ensure high availability, performance and security of data environments.
• Produce code artefacts and participate in code reviews and training.
• Collaborate with project teams to align with standards and ways of working.
• Oversee data security, access controls and governance in cloud environments.
• Engage with stakeholders to meet data needs and enable insights.
