Job summary

HSO/Aware is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design and implement cloud-native data platforms for clients across ANZ, with a focus on Azure technologies.

You’ll work in Professional Services, delivering high-value, billable data solutions, mentoring teammates, and translating business ideas into scalable architectures.

The role emphasizes strong client communication, learning agility, and hands-on delivery across Databricks, Synapse, Purview, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Recent 1–3 years data engineering using Databricks or Fabric.
• Strong cloud engineering with Azure focus.
• Experience with Purview, Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI or equivalents.
• Experience building cloud systems that wrangle raw data for reporting/AI workloads.
• Solid ETL/data integration skills using Spark or Python.
• Consulting or professional services background with client deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence with clients.
• High learning agility and problem solving across data domains.
• Ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement modern data platforms using Azure Databricks, Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory, Power BI, Purview.
• Build scalable ETL pipelines with Spark and Python.
• Work directly with clients to deliver high-value, billable outcomes.
• Translate business ideas into technical architecture and data platform solutions.
• Mentor others and uplift internal capabilities.
• Stay curious and explore ML, IoT, and infrastructure-as-code.
