Simple Machines is seeking a senior data leader to join our Sydney team as part of the Global Data Practice leadership. This strategic, hands-on engineering leadership role shapes the future of our data platform capability across ANZ, defining propositions, strengthening capability, and guiding clients through AI-native data modernisation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on data engineering, data platforms, analytics engineering, or data architecture.
• Proven consultancy and enterprise client-facing experience.
• Strong pre-sales, proposal development, and solution shaping capability.
• Experience architecting modern cloud-native data platforms at enterprise scale.
• Experience building data products and reusable enterprise data capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Be part of the Global Data Practice leadership team.
• Define and evolve data platform propositions, direction, and strategic positioning.
• Advise clients on modern data platform strategy, architecture, operating models, and AI readiness.
• Lead architecture and technical direction for enterprise data platform and transformation programs.
• Engage in pre-sales, proposal shaping, and executive stakeholder engagement.
• Build trusted relationships with technology partners and stay current with platform capabilities.
