Cognizant is seeking an experienced Data Modeler to translate complex business requirements into scalable data models for enterprise platforms. The role centers on Erwin Data Modeler, Azure Synapse, and PySpark across data warehouses and lakehouses.

The candidate will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, governance, and stakeholders to implement standardized, high-performing data structures and governance practices.

Qualifications

• 8–15 years in IT with data modelling/architecture.
• Minimum 3 years using Erwin Data Modeler in complex environments.
• Proven delivery on Azure-based data platforms (DW/lakehouse).
• Strong SQL, PySpark, and Azure tech experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data models for operational, analytical, DW, and lakehouse solutions.
• Use Erwin Data Modeler to create ER models, dimensional models, and physical designs.
• Translate requirements into entities, attributes, relationships, and business rules.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, analysts, and governance teams to deliver scalable, secure data structures.
• Validate models via SQL, PySpark, and data-quality checks; review ETL/ELT mappings.
