Job summary

iSelect, in partnership with Compare the Market, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Marketing) based in Brisbane to design and optimise scalable data solutions for marketing, analytics and activation.

You will collaborate across Marketing, Customer, Product, Data and Technology to transform complex requirements into practical data-driven solutions while championing quality, governance and continuous improvement. Flexible work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in data engineering, integrations, marketing technology, customer systems or similar technical roles.
• Proven experience building and supporting data pipelines, integrations, automation and workflow solutions.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, events, data models, webhooks, transformations and system integrations.
• Advanced SQL and data management skills, including data quality, validation and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CDPs, marketing automation, analytics, CRM, personalisation or audience activation platforms.
• Understanding of data governance, privacy, consent and operational controls in customer data environments.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
• Passion for automation, AI and emerging technologies that improve customer and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise data pipelines, integrations and automation solutions that support marketing, customer, digital and analytics initiatives.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions balancing performance, security, privacy, maintainability and cost.
• Develop and enhance audience, event, trigger, journey and activation workflows across marketing and customer platforms.
• Ensure data quality, reliability and accuracy through monitoring, validation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Lead end-to-end delivery, from solution design and implementation through to support and optimisation.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide technical guidance and identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI and emerging technologies.

Working closely with teams across Marketing, Customer, Product, Data and Technology, you'll transform complex requirements into practical, data-driven solutions while championing quality, governance and continuous improvement.
