Job summary

Araza in Canberra is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory. You will implement robust data workflows, manage integration runtimes, and work with ADLS Gen2, Synapse, and Azure SQL while partnering with data architects and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes writing efficient T-SQL, handling REST/SOAP APIs, and ensuring reliable, scalable data delivery in a SAFe environment. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in Azure Data Factory with parameterized, metadata-driven flows.
• Advanced T-SQL skills including stored procedures, functions, views, and indexing for performance tuning.
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, OAuth2, and JSON/XML data parsing for analytics-ready datasets.
• Strong communication and collaboration across technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines in Azure Data Factory with linked services, datasets, and integration runtimes.
• Write and optimize complex T-SQL and implement performance tuning and indexing strategies.
• Work across Azure services: ADLS Gen2, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, Synapse, Key Vault, Functions, Logic Apps.
• Monitor pipelines, set up alerts, troubleshoot failures, and analyze logs and dashboards.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders to translate data needs into solutions.
• Contribute to SAFe-based Agile ceremonies and practices.
