About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AI & Data Consultant to independently design and deliver modern data platform solutions addressing complex business challenges. This role requires strong hands‑on expertise across data engineering, modelling, and visualisation, with the ability to operate with minimal oversight while engaging confidently with senior stakeholders.

The role may also involve leading a small team on defined workstreams or smaller projects.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Design and develop scalable data engineering and AI solutions.
• Lead end-to-end implementation of modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Data Lake, Data Warehouse).
• Deliver data ingestion, integration, and transformation pipelines.
• Develop data models and visualisation solutions (e.g., dashboards, reporting tools).
• Provide operational support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to technical proposals, pre‑sales, and solution shaping activities.
• Ensure delivery aligns with agreed timelines, scope, and budget.
• Mentor junior team members where required.

Requirements and Experience

Core Platform & Architecture

• Strong experience with Data Lake / Lakehouse architecture
• Proven hands‑on experience with Databricks
• Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts
• Strong SQL expertise
• Good understanding of Data Modelling and Data Integration
• Development experience in at least two of the following:
• Databricks or Spark
• Terraform (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines

Professional & Consulting Capability

• Professional consulting skills with client‑facing experience
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
• Outstanding technical capability with a focus on delivering business value from underlying technology
