Job summary

The role translates business needs into data requirements and clear outputs, documents data assets and processes, and supports dashboards and data models.

You will work with diverse stakeholders to clarify questions, identify datasets, assess quality and ensure timely, fit-for-purpose reporting across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem solving across complex datasets.
• Ability to translate business needs into data requirements and outputs.
• Experience documenting data processes, metadata, and data dictionaries.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain knowledge of Victoria Police datasets and data flows.
• Document data processes, business rules and metadata to support reporting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and data outputs.
• Interrogate, transform and analyze data, noting quality issues and risks.
• Contribute to dashboards, reports, data models and visualisations.
• Support maintenance and improvement of enterprise data platform assets.
• Prepare clear analysis and recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Adapt to changing priorities and support broader VPS4 tasks.
