Liquid Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Data Analyst in Brisbane or remote Australia to shape digital products through deep data analysis and storytelling. You’ll partner with multidisciplinary teams to turn user data into decisions, driving improvements and smarter work practices across government, health and education sectors.
You’ll combine analytics foundations with product thinking, data governance and leadership to mentor analysts and deliver measurable impact.
This role is for data analysts who want to shape digital products, not just report on them.
At Liquid, we're looking for a Senior Data Analyst who is equally comfortable analysing raw data as presenting insights and recommendations to clients. You'll dig into product analytics and user behaviour data to uncover insights, then turn what you find into real improvements.
Liquid is a Strategic Design and Digital Transformation consultancy based in Brisbane, working on national projects across government, health, education and beyond. Our work ranges from improving access to mental health services to rethinking how public services are designed and delivered. It is grounded in creating meaningful, human-centred outcomes.
At Liquid, we partner with clients to create lasting change. That means thinking clearly, working collaboratively, evaluating needs and impact and always asking: what is the real problem, and what is possible?
This role sits at the intersection of public impact, digital product delivery and modern data and AI capability. You'll help multidisciplinary teams turn user data into insight, and insight into better product and service decisions.
We want someone who brings practical, responsible AI and data capability to the team, spots opportunities, and turns good ideas into useful product features and smarter ways of working.
For the right person, this is a chance to combine strong analytics foundations with product thinking, data storytelling, consulting judgement, people leadership and a genuine curiosity about AI.
Senior, full-lifecycle experience in data analysis, product analytics and BI, from measurement design through to insight and impact. This is a senior role and classified as a SFIA Level 3 (Apply) role.
Strong hands-on technical skills. You're comfortable getting deep into complex datasets yourself, not just directing others to do it.
Excellent communication and people skills, including confidence presenting findings to clients and senior stakeholders in a clear, compelling way.
Experience analysing website and digital product behaviour, including user journeys, engagement, conversion and drop-off, using tools such as GA4 and Google Tag Manager.
A track record of diagnosing data problems and fixing them. You can find the root cause, anticipate the next issue before it lands, and put a solution in place, grounded in context and project and industry knowledge rather than just reporting on what happened.
Working knowledge of machine learning or data science techniques, with the judgement to apply them responsibly to real business and product problems.
A background in psychology, political science, public health or a related field, combined with senior analytics experience. An understanding of human behaviour, research design and statistics is a real asset in our work.
Marketing analytics experience, such as campaign performance, channel attribution or customer segmentation.
SQL and Snowflake experience, including data modelling, quality and secure data handling.
Experience in building a team, leading and managing analysts: setting direction, reviewing work, and developing people's skills.
This role may be less suited to someone whose experience has been mostly direct reporting through dashboards, without deeper ownership of data, tracking or product questions.
You'll work within a multidisciplinary team of designers, developers, strategists, project managers and analysts. You'll understand client problems, interrogate data and turn what you find into insight that shapes better digital products and services. This is not a back-office reporting role: you'll stay close to both the detail and the outcome.
This role is open to remote applicants, but our preference is someone who will be able to work in the Brisbane office regularly.
Leading data analysis, product analytics and insight workstreams from discovery through to delivery, finding the "so what" and turning it into action.
Presenting to clients and facilitating workshops and meetings, translating data into narratives that resonate and build confidence in decisions.
Supporting our analysts, and lifting Liquid's wider capability across insights, analytics, AI and data-informed product thinking.
Diagnosing problems in products, services and data, then working with teams to prioritise and fix them. Insight isn't finished until something changes because of it.
Shaping measurement strategies for digital products, including events, product metrics and reporting needs.
Analysing website and user behaviour from sources such as GA4, Qualtrics and CDPs, as well as data provided by our clients, and turning it into clear reports, visualisations, dashboards and narratives.
Identifying practical AI opportunities across our operations and client-facing products, then helping teams move responsibly from idea to tested user case.
Taking a thoughtful approach to data governance and quality and knowing when rigour matters and when momentum matters.
This is a snapshot of what you might use. Deep expertise in all of them isn't expected but ability to learn is.
Digital product and web measurement: product metrics, website behaviour, marketing channels, tracking methods, event design and web data capture.
Analytics, research and visualisation: GA4, Google Tag Manager, Qualtrics, Power BI, Google Data Studio.
Project and development management: Jira, Confluence and other Atlassian apps.
Cloud data platforms and integration: Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure and CDPs such as RudderStack.
AI and data science: model-ready datasets, machine learning techniques, evaluation, monitoring, responsible AI practices and practical automation opportunities.
At Liquid, we believe in radical simplicity: cutting through complexity to create solutions that work for real people. We are curious and practical about AI. We're interested in what it can genuinely improve, clear-eyed about its limits, and careful about data, privacy, trust and human outcomes.
You will do well here if you:
Care about meaningful outcomes, not just analysis for analysis's sake.
Enjoy working closely with others in a collaborative, low-ego environment.
Are curious, adaptable and always learning.
Want to lead and help a team build stronger data, analytics and AI capability together.
Take ownership and find a way forward, even when things are not fully defined.
