Job summary

GHD is seeking an experienced Senior Dams Engineer to join our NSW/ACT Dams and Tailings team. The role can be based in Sydney (St Leonards), Canberra, Newcastle or Wollongong, with hybrid and office-based collaboration across multiple projects.

You will contribute to significant dam design, upgrade and safety projects, mentor junior engineers, and lead cross-disciplinary teams to deliver technically robust solutions for clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Experience in design, assessment and delivery of dams and tailings projects.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Design, assess and safely evaluate concrete and embankment dams and spillways.
• Deliver dam projects across the lifecycle from feasibility to construction support.
• Undertake dam safety surveillance and risk assessments.
• Coordinate geotechnical, structural, hydraulic and environmental specialists.
