Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Governance Analyst in Canberra to support a major cyber security uplift. You will work within a dedicated cyber security team, focusing on governance, risk and compliance activities, and supporting broader security objectives.

This is an initial 12-month contract with potential extension and requires NV1 clearance. You will contribute to solution design, review controls, develop governance documentation and engage with stakeholders to drive program

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the Australian Government ISM, PSPF and Essential Eight.
• Experience in cyber security governance, risk and compliance roles.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes.
• Experience developing governance, risk, compliance or assurance documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to cyber security governance and risk activities within the program.
• Review security requirements and controls and provide recommendations.
• Develop communications, reports and documentation for executive decision-making.
• Coordinate security assurance activities, including security assessments.
• Lead development and maintenance of formal governance and compliance docs.
• Engage with stakeholders to achieve program outcomes.
• Support governance, risk and compliance initiatives across the organisation.

About the Opportunity

Seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Governance Analyst to support a major cyber security uplift and resilience program. The successful candidate will work within a dedicated cyber security team, contributing to governance, risk and compliance activities while supporting broader organisational security objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional with strong GRC experience to work in a complex and high-profile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to solution design by providing cyber security expertise and guidance.
• Review and provide recommendations on security requirements and controls.
• Develop communications, reports and documentation to support executive decision-making.
• Coordinate and support security assurance activities, including security assessments and penetration testing.
• Lead the development and maintenance of formal security governance and compliance documentation.
• Engage with technical and business stakeholders to achieve program outcomes.
• Support cyber security governance, risk and compliance initiatives across the organisation.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong knowledge of the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and Essential Eight.
• Demonstrated experience working in Cyber Security Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) roles.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes.
• Experience developing security governance, risk, compliance or assurance documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Five or more years' experience in cyber security governance, risk and compliance related positions.
• Experience working within Australian Government environments.
• Familiarity with security assurance frameworks and security accreditation processes.
