Job summary

Pacific Energy is seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator to join the Commercial & Growth team in Western Australia. The role focuses on commercial, contractual and claims management across renewable energy projects, with exposure to bid development, project delivery and contract close-out.

Flexible and part-time discussions may be explored for the right candidate. The successful candidate will provide strategic contract advice, mitigate risk and support continuous improvement of contract

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial, contracts and claims management in energy, resources, construction, infrastructure or related sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen to identify opportunities, manage risk and protect outcomes.
• Knowledge of contractual frameworks and compliance in the Australian market.

Responsibilities

• Provide contractual and commercial advice to project delivery, commercial and operational teams.
• Administer contracts through the project lifecycle including notices, change management and close-out.
• Review and prepare contract correspondence, amendments and subcontract agreements.
• Identify, assess and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
• Support contract management framework improvements and governance processes.
• Assist with preparation, assessment and defence of contractual claims and contentions.
• Evaluate variations, extensions of time and delay and disruption claims.
• Support bid/tender activities, including review of contracts, risk assessments and exclusions.
• Monitor tender and commercial correspondence to support successful bid delivery.

About the Role

As a Senior Contracts Administrator, you will provide commercial, contractual and claims management support across Pacific Energy's commercial and project delivery portfolios.

Working closely with the Commercial & Growth team, Project Managers, Legal and senior business leaders, you will help safeguard commercial outcomes through effective contract administration, risk management, claims resolution and dispute avoidance.

You will act as a trusted commercial advisor throughout the full contract lifecycle, from bid and tender development through to project delivery, commissioning, handover and final account close-out.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide contractual and commercial advice to project delivery, commercial and operational teams.
• Support the administration of contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including compliance, contract notices, change management and contract close-out activities.
• Review and prepare contract correspondence, amendments, subcontract agreements and other commercial documentation.
• Identify, assess and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
• Support the continuous improvement of contract management frameworks, governance processes and commercial procedures.
• Assist with the preparation, assessment and defence of contractual claims and contentions.
• Evaluate variations, extensions of time, delay and disruption claims, prolongation costs and liquidated damages.
• Support project teams to protect contractual entitlements and minimise commercial exposure.
• Identify emerging issues and contribute to dispute avoidance and resolution activities in collaboration with project and legal teams.
• Support bid and tender activities, including contract reviews, risk assessments and the review of contractual departures, qualifications and exclusions.
• Monitor tender and commercial correspondence to support successful bid delivery.

About You

You are a commercially astute and solutions-focused professional with strong contract administration, claims and commercial management experience. You enjoy building relationships, navigating complex contractual matters and delivering practical outcomes that support successful project delivery.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial, contracts and claims management within the energy, resources, construction, infrastructure or related sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, manage risk and protect commercial outcomes.
• Sound knowledge of contractual frameworks, contract administration and compliance requirements within the Australian market.
• Experience supporting claims management, variations, extensions of time and dispute resolution processes.
• Experience working within EPC, BOO and/or O&M contract environments.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with experience using systems such as Aconex, TeamBinder and SAP highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical capability and problem-solving skills.
