Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Environmental Scientist to lead contaminated land investigations and remediation in Darwin. The role combines high‑level technical work with project leadership, client engagement and business growth across Defence, infrastructure and resources sectors.

Relocation to Darwin is available. The role offers hybrid work options and exposure to national projects, complex sites and regulatory challenges in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10+ years of experience in contaminated land consulting, environmental science or related field.
• Experience in leading investigations, assessments and remediation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver contaminated land investigations, assessments and remediation projects.
• Provide senior technical advice on complex contaminated land and environmental management matters.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, tender submissions and client correspondence.
• Develop investigation strategies, sampling programs and remediation approaches.
• Manage projects from scoping to delivery with quality, safety, budget and program focus.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators and project teams.
• Provide mentoring to support the development of other professionals.
