Job summary

BDO is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Queensland team in Brisbane, Cairns or Darwin. You will work across infrastructure and development projects, from early planning through delivery, taking ownership of workstreams such as business cases, feasibility studies, and commercial analyses.

You will engage directly with clients and stakeholders, support budgeting and risk management, and contribute to proposals and BD activities.

Qualifications

• Commercially-minded professional with an ability to combine analysis, stakeholders perspectives and practical recommendations.
• Experience in consulting, infrastructure advisory, project advisory, government or related environment.
• Exposure to business case development, feasibility studies, commercial analyses, project management or economic analysis.
• Experience contributing to complex infrastructure, investment or development projects.
• Strong written communication skills and experience preparing professional reports, presentations or advisory deliverables.
• Confidence engaging with clients and stakeholders across government and/or the private sector.
• Ability to manage own workstreams and priorities within multidisciplinary teams.

• Supporting and guiding junior team members, while working with managers and senior leaders across engagements.

About the Role

With continued growth across Queensland and Northern Australia, we're looking for a Senior Consultant to join our team in Brisbane, Cairns or Darwin.

As a Senior Consultant, you'll work across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and development projects, supporting clients from early-stage planning and business case development through to project delivery.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of key workstreams across engagements including business cases, feasibility studies, commercial assessments, economic development initiatives and project delivery assignments.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing high-quality reports, presentations, recommendations and other client deliverables
• Supporting project planning, budgets, schedules, risk management and progress reporting

• Contributing to business development activities, including proposals, tender submissions and research
• Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
• Supporting and guiding junior team members, while working closely with Managers and senior leaders across engagements

About you

You'll be a commercially minded professional who enjoys working on complex projects and bringing together analysis, stakeholder perspectives and practical recommendations.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in finance, law, commerce, engineering, economics or a related discipline
• Experience within consulting, infrastructure advisory, project advisory, government or a related environment
• Exposure to areas such as business case development, feasibility studies, commercial analysis, project management or economic analysis
• Experience contributing to complex infrastructure, investment or development projects
• Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn information into clear insights and recommendations
• Confidence engaging with clients and stakeholders across government and/or the private sector
• Strong written communication skills and experience preparing professional reports, presentations or advisory deliverables
• The ability to manage your own workstreams and priorities while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
