Synogize Pty Ltd. is seeking a Senior Databricks Consultant to lead Databricks projects, mentor consultants and shape data, analytics and AI solutions for clients in Australia.

You will drive best practices, uplift knowledge, collaborate with sales, partners and clients, and contribute to training and certification pathways for the team.

Qualificações

• Proven experience delivering Databricks platforms and leading small teams.
• Deep technical knowledge of Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake and cloud data architecture.
• Hands-on with Lakeflow, Unity Catalog and Databricks SQL.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps/CI-CD practices in data projects.
• Exposure to ML/AI on Databricks and client-facing collaboration.

About The Role

As our Senior Databricks Consultant, you will lead Databricks projects and help develop our assets and resources, while guiding our team to consistently deliver innovative and reliable solutions. You'll be integral in uplifting Databricks knowledge in the team, driving continuous improvement from implementation through ongoing enhancements to our assets, while embedding best practices and ensuring quality outcomes. You'll work cross-functionally with our sales and marketing team, technology partners and clients to strengthen our position as a Databricks solutions leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert in Databricks and related technologies
• Provide guidance on lakehouse design patterns (including medallion architecture), delivery methodologies and tooling
• Ensure delivery quality across Databricks data platform, data engineering and AI/ML projects
• Implement security, governance and compliance on Databricks using Unity Catalog
• Capture and promote client success stories and case studies in Databricks implementations
• Work with Databricks and other technology partners on solution design and delivery
• Support the sales team with pre-sales engagements and solution design
• Contribute to training and certification pathways for our Databricks consultants
• Help identify and develop opportunities with existing Databricks clients
• Contribute Databricks-focused thought leadership through published content
• Participate in conference sessions, webinars and executive round table events

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience delivering Databricks platforms and solutions, including leading small teams or workstreams
• Deep technical knowledge of Databricks, Apache Spark (PySpark and Spark SQL), Delta Lake, data modelling (dimensional or Data Vault) and cloud data architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Hands-on experience with Lakeflow (Connect, Pipelines, Jobs), Databricks SQL and Unity Catalog for security, access control, lineage and auditing
• Experience with Agile, DevOps/CI-CD (including Databricks Asset Bundles) and modern data delivery practices
• Exposure to machine learning and AI on Databricks (e.g. MLflow, Mosaic AI, Genie, Agent Bricks) is highly regarded
• Experience leading migrations from legacy data platforms (e.g. SQL Server, Synapse, Hadoop, SAS) to Databricks
• Experience optimising Databricks cost and performance (e.g. compute sizing, serverless, workload tuning)
• Experience integrating Databricks with tools such as dbt, Fivetran, Power BI or Tableau
• Strong capability development and mentoring skills
• Excellent client engagement, communication and pre-sales experience
• A track record of delivering data solutions with measurable business impact
• Databricks certifications (e.g. Data Engineer Professional), or willingness to obtain them
