Austal in Henderson, WA is seeking a Senior Configuration Management Officer to assist in coordinating and delivering Project Configuration Management activities in line with the CM Plan. You will support the Configuration Manager/Lead to meet CM goals and enable smooth handover to sustainment teams.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or higher level in a technical discipline.
• Maritime degree or trade qualification preferred.

• Capture and manage configuration information and changes using advanced CM tools.

• Regularly update and report on CM status.
• Support the CM Team Lead and act as the CM lead in their absence.

About The Opportunity

Based in Henderson, WA. The Senior Configuration Management Officer is responsible for assisting in the coordination and delivery of Project Configuration Management (CM) activities in accordance with the CM Plan. The Configuration Officer will assist the Configuration Manager/Lead with the conduct of project activities to meet both project and Austal CM goals. Effective CM activity on this Project will support customer acceptance of each vessel and enable successful handover to sustainment activities.

What’s Involved

Drive the coordination and delivery of project Configuration Management (CM) activities and CDRL deliverables.

• Ensure timely completion and closeout of CM activities in line with plans and schedules.
• Capture and manage configuration information and changes using advanced CM tools.
• Coordinate and conduct Configuration Audits, prepare audit packs, and participate in Physical Configuration Audits.
• Regularly update and report on CM status.
• Support the CM Team Lead and act as the CM lead in their absence, showcasing your leadership skills.
• Process and manage Engineering Changes, ensuring all documentation is complete for review and approval.
• Manage the distribution of Engineering Changes to relevant stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
• Maintain and improve processes to ensure consistent delivery of outputs.
• Foster teamwork between internal and external parties, integrating disciplines across project activities (e.g., Design to Production, Electrical to Mechanical).
• Perform secretariate duties for Engineering Review Boards and Configuration Control Boards.

You’ll Need

• Certificate IV or higher level in technical discipline
• Relevant maritime degree or trade qualification preferred
