Job summary

TheDriveGroup in Sydney is seeking a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to own real-time detection, classification and tracking systems. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of CV, software engineering and edge AI, delivering production-grade solutions.

You will design and optimize CV algorithms in C++ and Python, integrate sensors, and push models to edge and GPU environments, collaborating with ML and systems engineers to ship robust, scalable software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in computer vision, perception or software engineering.
• Strong commercial software engineering experience with C++.
• Proven ability to build and deploy real-world computer vision systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise computer vision algorithms across object detection, classification and tracking.
• Build high-performance, production-grade software using C++ and Python.
• Develop and optimise real-time image and video processing pipelines.
• Integrate cameras and other sensors into computer vision systems.
• Deploy and optimise AI/ML models across edge and GPU environments.
• Work across multithreading, benchmarking and profiling to improve system performance.
• Solve complex problems across tracking, sensor fusion, 3D geometry and image processing.
• Collaborate with Software, ML and Systems Engineers to take solutions from development through to production.
• Take ownership of technical problems and contribute to architecture and engineering decisions across the product.
