Job summary

Webuild S.p.A NSW, Australia, is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) with proven experience in commissioning HVAC, BMCS and related mechanical systems for the Sydney SSTOM Project. You will lead testing, verification and handover of complex mechanical packages, coordinating with project managers, engineers, contractors and vendors to ensure safety, quality and on-schedule delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5+ years experience in commissioning mechanical systems or BMCS or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, BMCS, hydraulic services and fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead testing, verification and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, BMCS, hydraulics, fire protection, vertical transport and tunnel ventilation.
  • Coordinate functional and performance testing of Building Management Control Systems with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures and testing schedules.
  • Coordinate with project teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery and safety.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve commissioning issues, defects and punch lists.
  • Prepare commissioning documentation, test reports and records per design specs and standards.

Senior Commissioning Engineer Mechanical Webuild S.p.A NSW, AU

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer experienced in commissioning HVAC, BMCS, and other mechanical systems (hydraulic services, fire protection, vertical transportation and tunnel ventilation systems) to join our team on the Sydney SSTOM Project.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineering professional to play a key role in the testing, verification, and commissioning of complex mechanical systems across a major infrastructure project.

Reporting to the Commissioning Lead - Mechanical Systems, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure mechanical systems are successfully tested, commissioned and handed over.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the testing, verification and commissioning of mechanical systems, including; HVAC, BMCS, hydraulic services, fire protection, vertical transportation and tunnel ventilation systems.
  • Lead and coordinate the functional and performance testing of the Building Management Control Systems of HVAC assets in conjunction with subcontractors, vendors.
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures and testing schedules in line with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with project teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure commissioning activities are delivered safely and on schedule.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and manage the resolution of commissioning issues, defects, non-conformances and punch list items.
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, test reports and records, ensuring systems meet design specifications, relevant standards and project requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 3-5+ years experience in commissioning of mechanical systems or BMCS or a related field.
  • Strong experience and technical knowledge across HVAC, BMCS, hydraulic services and fire protection systems.
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial or large-scale construction projects is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, installation and operation.
  • Familiarity with commissioning software, testing equipment and testing procedures.
