Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice – Parramatta NSW is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to provide strategic leadership on complex commercial, financial and transaction matters across Homes NSW. You will drive value-for-money outcomes, governance and risk management in a dynamic housing program.

You will lead negotiations, develop innovative commercial and financial solutions, and advise senior stakeholders while building partnerships across government, industry and community housing

Qualifications

• Proven experience in leading complex commercial transactions and negotiations.
• Strong knowledge of strategic procurement, housing policy, financing and implementation.
• Ability to provide trusted advice to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to build influential partnerships across government and industry.
• Experience in managing risk and delivering strategic outcomes.
• Equivalent experience may be considered.

As part of a high-performing commercial team, you will play a critical role in supporting some of the state's most important housing and redevelopment initiatives.

What you'll do

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Commercial Manager to provide strategic leadership and expert advice on complex commercial, financial and transaction matters across the Homes NSW portfolio.

Working in a dynamic environment, you will help drive innovative commercial solutions that support the delivery of housing outcomes while ensuring value for money, effective risk management and strong governance practices.

This is a unique opportunity to influence major housing initiatives, contribute to policy and strategic direction, and work closely with senior executives, government agencies, developers, community housing providers and other key stakeholders.

The role requires strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, as you will collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, developers, non-government organisations and community stakeholders to achieve project objectives. You will lead commercial negotiations, manage competing priorities, resolve complex issues and influence outcomes across a broad range of programs and initiatives

You will also contribute to strategic planning and policy development, identify and mitigate commercial risks, promote best-practice governance and support continuous improvement through standardisation, innovation and organisational efficiency.

• Leading complex commercial transactions and negotiations.
• Developing innovative commercial and financial solutions.
• Providing trusted advice to senior stakeholders.
• Building influential partnerships across government and industry.
• Managing risk and delivering strategic outcomes.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of strategic procurement, housing policy, financing and implementation.
• Ability to undertake local and regional travel, including overnight stays, as required.
