Job summary

TM Collins Lawyers Pty Ltd is seeking a Legal Senior Associate / Special Counsel – Commercial Litigation in Melbourne. You will work closely with partners on a broad range of commercial disputes and manage your own files, developing litigation strategies and handling negotiations and mediations.

With at least 6 years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation, you will run matters independently, draft persuasively, and manage client relationships while briefing counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation.
• Ability to run litigation matters independently.
• Strong drafting, advocacy, negotiation and client management skills.
• Good commercial judgement and practical approach to resolving disputes.
• Ambition to take on greater responsibility as the firm grows.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex contractual and commercial disputes
• Handle shareholder, director and partnership disputes
• Manage Corporations Act disputes and breaches of directors' duties
• Work on insolvency and restructuring-related litigation
• Handle commercial property and finance disputes
• Manage injunctions, debt recovery and enforcement proceedings
• Manage your own files independently
• Develop litigation strategies
• Deal directly with clients
• Brief counsel and conduct negotiations and mediations
