Haskoning in Australia is seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer to lead the technical design, delivery and inspection of coastal projects from Brisbane. You will mentor junior staff and collaborate with regional coastal teams to deliver solutions for shores, breakwaters and shoreline infrastructure.

The role emphasizes multidisciplinary coordination, client liaison and the preparation of robust coastal design, reports and contract documents across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years' experience on civil engineering projects, ideally within the Coastal space.
• BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and be either Chartered or working towards chartership.
• Experience in planning and design of coastal structures / beach nourishment / scour protection.
• Commercial and technical management project skills, demonstrating commercial awareness.
• Familiar with the concepts of numerical and physical modelling.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical project support.
• Prepare designs for coastal structures from initial concepts through to detailed designs.
• Produce design calculations and review calculations by others.
• Create sketch drawings and details for CAD drawings and review prior to issue.
• Prepare design/technical reports and specifications, Bills of Quantities, and assist with contract documents.

What you will do as Senior Coastal Engineer

As a Senior Coastal Engineer in our Brisbane office, you support the technical design, delivery and inspection of our Coastal work. You will work with other Coastal professionals regionally. As a senior engineer, you will also be expected to lead our junior staff in the preparation of coastal studies and designs.

• You will provide technical project support.
• You will prepare designs for coastal structures including breakwaters, revetments, groynes etc, from initial concepts through to detailed designs.
• You will produce design calculations. Checking and reviewing calculations produced by others.
• You will produce sketch drawings and details for CAD drawings by others. Checking and reviewing of these prior to issue.
• You will prepare design/technical reports
• You will prepare Specifications, Bills of Quantities and assistance with contract documents for construction projects.

You will collaborate with highly skilled engineers and consultants on projects that support sustainable development and resilient communities.
