Job summary

Ad Astra Consultants is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer in Sydney to lead cross-cloud infrastructure initiatives. You will translate high-level designs into detailed plans, drive tenant migrations, and support post go-live Hypercare with strong CAF-aligned landing zones.

The role requires hands-on experience with Terraform, Azure DevOps, and multi-cloud networking, including Azure and GCP connectivity, DNS, and routing. Strong Windows/Linux administration is essential.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer in large-scale retail or ERP migrations.
Ability to translate High-Level Designs into Detailed Level Designs and present to ARB or governance bodies.
Experience tenant-to-tenant Azure migrations including workloads, resources and identities across tenancies.
Proven track record delivering infrastructure support, troubleshooting, and stabilisation during post go-live Hypercare windows.
Azure Landing Zones aligned with CAF principles.
Proficiency with Terraform and Azure DevOps for automated deployment.
Hybrid/multi-cloud networking experience including Azure Hub-and-Spoke, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute and BGP.
Knowledge of GCP networking concepts for multi-cloud connectivity (VPCs, Cloud Routers, NCC topologies, BGP propagation).
Experience managing data transport, routing, and DNS between Azure, GCP, and on‑premise data centres.
Provisioning/core Azure components (SQL MI, SQL Server on IaaS, Azure VMs).
Windows Server and Linux administration.
Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow for agile task tracking and delivery.
