Tasmanian Government seeks a Clinical Nurse Consultant – Clinical Practice and Standards at Royal Hobart Hospital to provide expert clinical leadership and drive safety, quality and nursing practice improvements across Surgical and Perioperative Services.

The role leads education, audits and policy development, supporting staff to deliver evidence-based care and meet national standards. Applicants must be a Registered Nurse with relevant governance knowledge, in a fixed-term, full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• Advanced clinical leadership to improve patient safety and nursing practice.
• Knowledge of clinical governance and NSQHS standards with ability to respond to risks.
• Lead development, implementation and evaluation of clinical policies and quality initiatives.
• Provide education and mentoring to support staff capability and standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical leadership to improve patient safety and nursing practice.
• Lead risk management, incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Oversee audits and reporting of outcomes to hospital committees.
• Drive quality improvement and development of policies and models of care.
• Coordinate staff education and mandatory competencies.
