Job summary

NSW Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC2) in Forensic Rehabilitation. The role provides expert leadership in trauma-informed, recovery-oriented forensic mental health care and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

The CNC2 drives quality improvement, develops clinical guidelines, and contributes to performance targets under NSW Health agreements, with a focus on innovative care and staff development.

Qualifications

• Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Five years full-time equivalent postgraduate experience, with at least three years in mental health.
• Postgraduate qualifications in mental health.
• The CNC Forensic Rehabilitation possesses the attributes to undertake the domains and functions of Grade 2 Clinical Nurse Consultant as per IB2017_002.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert leadership in forensic mental health rehabilitation that is trauma-informed and recovery-oriented.
• Promote patient access to evidence-based supports and understanding of mental health needs and behaviour.
• Develop, review and evaluate clinical guidelines, protocols and policies reflecting best practice.
• Support achievement of performance targets and strategic commitments under NSW Health agreements.
