Job summary

Systra Australia is seeking an experienced civil engineer to join our transport team, delivering major roads and highways projects. You will contribute to design and delivery within a multidisciplinary environment and help shape the future of infrastructure in NSW.

The role offers exposure to significant projects, client interaction, and a clear path toward Design Manager or Technical Lead roles, with flexible work arrangements and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on transport infrastructure.
• Experience delivering major infrastructure projects, ideally within a major D&C environment.
• Strong capability in general civil design, including alignment design and related road elements.
• Proficiency in 12d and producing or coordinating high-quality civil design outputs.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, liaising with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Experience in a zone lead, coordination, or design leadership capacity, or ambition to grow into Design Manager/Technical Lead.

The role

In this role, you will support the design and delivery of major roads and highways projects, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality transport infrastructure outcomes.

• Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders throughout design and delivery phases

• Take ownership of key design elements and contribute to broader project delivery outcomes

What We're Looking For

• Approximately 8-10 years' experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on transport infrastructure, roads and highways
• Experience delivering work on major infrastructure projects, ideally within the major D&C environment
• Strong capability in general civil design, including alignment design and related road infrastructure elements such as road furniture
• Proficiency in 12d and confidence producing or coordinating high-quality civil design outputs
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, while liaising with clients and internal stakeholders
• Experience in a zone lead, coordination, or design leadership capacity, or the ambition to grow into a Design Manager/Technical Lead pathway
