About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Urban Development team in Canberra. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, drive project delivery, and work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high‑impact outcomes. This is an opportunity to step into a visible, influential role within a highly regarded team.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead and deliver high‑quality civil design solutions across a range of urban development projects.
  • Provide technical oversight and mentor junior engineers and designers.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and fee proposals.
  • Undertake and review detailed civil design, including earthworks, drainage, roads, pavements, utilities, and car parks.
  • Liaise closely with architects, landscape architects, planners, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Manage project meetings, client communication, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee project management activities including reporting, risk management, and QA processes.
  • Support business development through bids, proposals, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Promote continuous improvement in engineering processes, design quality, and delivery.
What do we need from you
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or eligible/near completion) with NERaccreditation.
  • 6+ years’ experience in civil design preferably for land development, subdivisions, and greenfield/brownfield projects.
  • Strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of relevant guidelines, Australian Standards, and Local Council Planning Schemes.
  • Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD, 12D, Drains, and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in QA processes, design reviews, and project coordination.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive client and stakeholder relationships.
