Job summary

AECOM in Adelaide is seeking a skilled drafting engineer to deliver design and drafting on major civil infrastructure projects across Defence, transport, and utilities. You’ll work with engineers and other drafters to produce timely, high-quality design deliverables and contribute to secure, long-term infrastructure programs.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience, strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills, and the ability to work independently while prioritising safety.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years experience in a similar drafting/design role.
• Proven knowledge of AutoCAD and 12D or Civil 3D software packages.
• Experience delivering design and drafting for large civil infrastructure projects (utilities, drainage, earthworks, roads).
• Ability to develop designs independently with safety in mind.
• Australian citizenship required; Defence clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver drafting/design on large multidisciplinary civil engineering projects.
• Collaborate with engineers and drafters to ensure timely deliverables.
• Maintain high design standards and best practices for quality.
• Contribute to Defence-related projects to support secure, future-ready assets.
• Mentor or lead junior team members in the Adelaide drafting group.
