Job summary

Ballarat Grammar is seeking a Senior Chair of Faculty – Mathematics to lead a large, high-performing Mathematics faculty. You will develop teachers, drive academic excellence and shape outstanding student outcomes across Senior School Mathematics.

The role focuses on staff development, curriculum leadership, and strategic contributions, with a view to commence Term 1, 2027 or earlier by negotiation. A strong leadership background and VCE Mathematics experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching VCE Mathematics.
• Strong coaching, mentoring and staff development capability.
• Proven ability to build relationships and lead teams effectively.
• A commitment to achieving outstanding student outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current VIT registration, or the ability to obtain registration.

• Faculty Leadership: Lead, coach and support Mathematics staff while fostering a positive and collaborative culture.

About the role
Reporting to the Senior School Head of Teaching and Learning, the Senior School Chair of Faculty – Mathematics provides leadership across a large and established Mathematics faculty. The role focuses on staff development, teaching excellence and driving strong student outcomes across Senior School Mathematics.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Faculty Leadership: Lead, coach and support Mathematics staff while fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
• Teaching & Learning: Drive excellence in curriculum delivery, classroom practice and student achievement.
• Staff Development: Mentor teachers, lead professional learning and support performance and growth processes.
• Curriculum Leadership: Oversee Years 10-12 Mathematics and contribute to ongoing curriculum development.
• Strategic Contribution: Collaborate with leaders across the school and contribute to broader educational priorities.

The School is seeking a Term 1, 2027 commencement, or earlier by negotiation.
