  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $155,764 to $181,393 + super

The role

Work across complex, high-profile state projects. Supporting assessments that balance competing stakeholder interests while delivering timely, high-quality outcomes. You'll play a key role in supporting your team day-to-day, tackle contentious issues, and find practical solutions that keep projects moving and meet legislative requirements.


This role encompasses the work of the Major Projects Advisory team and focuses on bilateral agreements between NSW and the Australian Government. You will assist in the implementation of the NSW/Australian Government Assessment Bilateral Agreement, including delivering the Bilateral Implementation Framework, supporting process improvements, and maintaining the Bilateral Helpdesk. You will also support the negotiation of new bilateral agreements between NSW and the Australian Government as a result of EPBC Act reforms.


This puts you at the centre of improving how the planning system works—driving smarter processes, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and shaping decisions that deliver efficient, consistent outcomes for government, industry and the community.

What you will bring to the role


  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, manage complex communications, present with credibility and confidence, and translate complex information clearly and concisely for different audiences.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to analyse complex issues, identify areas of risk and opportunities for collaboration, and deliver practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively to influence outcomes and resolve competing priorities.

  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills, with the ability to innovate and work independently to manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines.


What is an essential requirement:


  • Degree in planning, environmental management, engineering or other relevant discipline

  • Willingness to travel and (minimum) Class C Driver's Licence
