Job summary

ASX is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for Workforce Planning to drive end‑to‑end business analysis for Workday Adaptive Planning within P&C. You will engage stakeholders, map processes, and translate requirements into epics, features and user stories while ensuring data and reporting integrity across systems.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, validate and manage requirements as epics, features, user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Define and validate data, reporting, security and integration requirements across Workday HCM and related systems.
• Review test scenarios and lead user acceptance testing readiness.

Your responsibilities

• Lead business analysis across Position Management, Workforce Planning and Financial Planning to support the end-to-end implementation and adoption of Workday Adaptive Planning for P&C.


• Work with impacted stakeholders to perform deep dive gap analysis on the As-Is state and the To Be State, allowing for effective review by project team members and impacted stakeholders.


• Liaise with assigned Project/Program Owners and Subject Matter Experts for elicitation, analysis, prioritisation and approval of new business requests within associated projects.


• Define transitions of business processes to the strategic state, with interim/tactical states where needed, including the connected operating model, roles, accountabilities, governance, controls and decision rights required for workforce and financial planning.


• Analyse and map process flows, domain models, system data flows and associated life cycle events to determine and manage transition to the target state.


• Elicit, prepare and manage business requirements, including functional and non-functional requirements, in the form of epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria, and clearly articulate these to developers, testers, vendors and project stakeholders.


• Define and validate data, reporting, planning, security and integration requirements across Workday HCM, Position Management, Workday Adaptive Planning and related systems.


• Use formal modelling techniques to assist in the representation of business requirements.


• Liaise with counterparts in related internal project/domain teams to understand dependencies, constraints and associated requirements, and agree upon and deliver solutions. Maintain clear links between requirements, risks, decisions and delivery outcomes across P&C, Finance, Technology and implementation partners.


• Review and contribute to specific test scenarios and the overall Test Strategy, and lead business validation and readiness for user acceptance testing.


• Liaise with IT solution providers, internal and external, on project progress, requirements clarification and problem resolution.


• Ability to assume cross-functional responsibilities when needed, such as running project coordination, daily stand‑ups, retros and backlog grooming sessions.


• Work with Release Management to ensure a smooth implementation and transition phase.


• Contribution to change management activities and preparation of training artefacts that would enable impacted stakeholders to apply the changes introduced by a delivered business requirement.


• Conduct peer review of business analysis artefacts to ensure quality and alignment to framework.


• Produce high-quality business analysis deliverables using relevant techniques and tools in line with the ASX delivery framework


• You are a practitioner/team member of the Business Analyst Capability Community Community of Practice (CoP).

Your experience and qualifications

Must have

• Business analysis experience supporting a Workday HCM and Position Management implementation, including defining business, process and data requirements and confirming that the solution meets business needs.


• 5+ years dedicated business analysis experience.


• Experience working independently on Tier 1 projects across the full SDLC from early ideation to execution and embedment in BAU.


• Deep understanding of the business analysis fundamentals.


• Experience in gathering stakeholder needs and translating these to detailed functional and non‑functional requirements.


• Experience analysing and designing integrated processes, operating models, governance, controls and data requirements across Position Management, Workforce Planning or Financial Planning.


• Experience in business process modelling using software such as MS Visio or other enterprise endorsed platforms.


• Experience using Atlassian tool suite, including JIRA and Confluence.


• Effective communication, facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills. Can collaborate with stakeholders across seniority levels and lead cross‑functional analysis across P&C, Finance and Technology.


• Demonstrated effective problem‑solving skills, with the ability to resolve competing requirements and manage change within dynamic environment.


• Be comfortable working within a matrix structure.


• Experience working with Change Management and influencing user behaviour.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting Workday Adaptive Planning or an equivalent enterprise planning platform.


• Experience delivering Workforce Planning or Financial Planning transformation.


• A recognised business‑analysis certification, such as IIBA CBAP.
