Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Business Analyst within Information Services based in Brisbane or Sydney. You will lead analysis across complex technology initiatives, translating business problems into clear requirements and actionable tasks, while guiding delivery from discovery through business operations.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to define outcomes, assess options, support vendor evaluations and drive quality in analysis, governance and portfolio planning across a growing project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information technology or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years’ experience in business analysis, including at least 3 years in a senior role supporting complex technology initiatives
• Experience across discovery, business case development, requirements analysis, process analysis, solution assessment, implementation and business acceptance
• Experience supporting RFPs, vendor evaluation and solution selection processes
• Experience with enterprise platforms, SaaS solutions and major system implementations

Senior Business Analyst - Information Services

We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Information Services team, based in Brisbane or Sydney.

You’ll lead business analysis across complex technology initiatives, working with stakeholders to define business problems, clarify desired outcomes and identify practical solutions. Your involvement will span early discovery and business case development through solution selection, implementation, testing, business acceptance and transition into business operations.

This is an opportunity to influence how we deliver technology change across our business. You’ll strengthen the quality and consistency of business analysis, reduce rework and help build capability across a growing delivery portfolio.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers varied work and will see you involved in:

• Leading business analysis activities across large or complex projects and programs
• Working with business stakeholders to define problems, opportunities, drivers and desired outcomes
• Maintaining accountability for business analysis across the full initiative lifecycle
• Assessing process, technology and operating model options
• Translating complex information into clear requirements and actionable tasks
• Partnering with project managers, technical teams and business stakeholders to support strong delivery outcomes
• Assessing vendor proposals and deliverables against agreed requirements, scope and business needs
• Identifying and addressing risks related to requirements, scope and solution design
• Facilitating the resolution of gaps between business expectations and proposed solution capabilities
• Leading User Acceptance Testing planning, execution, defect clarification and business validation
• Supporting implementation readiness and transition into business operations
• Improving business analysis practices, tools and ways of working
• Contributing to portfolio planning and governance discussions
• Providing guidance to junior Business Analysts when required.

What you will bring to the team:

• A bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information technology or equivalent relevant experience
• More than 10 years’ experience in business analysis, including at least three years in a senior role supporting complex technology initiatives
• Strong capability across discovery, business case development, requirements analysis, process analysis, solution assessment, implementation and business acceptance
• Experience supporting request for information, request for proposal, vendor evaluation and solution selection processes
• Experience with enterprise platforms, software as a service solutions and major system implementations
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience influencing senior business and technology stakeholders
• Sound analytical judgement and the ability to connect business needs with practical solutions
• Experience working with vendors and implementation partners
• The ability to balance strategic priorities with initiative-level detail
• A commitment to quality, consistency and disciplined delivery
• The ability to guide and support less-experienced Business Analysts.
  

A Certified Business Analysis Professional or Certification of Capability in Business Analysis qualification would be valued.
