About Legal Aid NSW

We stand beside people when they need it most.

At Legal Aid NSW, fairness isn’t just a legal principle, it shapes everything we do - our culture, our services, our workplace and our decisions.

Since 1979, Legal Aid NSW has provided legal advice, support and representation in criminal, family and civil law, helping people across NSW navigate hardship and complex legal issues. Our work is challenging, but deeply meaningful.

In partnerships with LawAccess NSW, Community Legal Centres and the Aboriginal Legal Service NSW/ACT, we are located throughout the state including our Central Sydney office, 25 regional offices, and satellite and outreach offices.

About The Role

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will transform and maintain raw data within the Business Intelligence environment to support operational reporting, analysis, and informed decision-making across Legal Aid NSW.

Working within the Business Reporting team, you will analyse and transform complex data into meaningful reports and interactive visualisations, providing valuable insights to stakeholders across the organisation. You will also undertake investigative analysis, prepare reports for executives, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to interpret data, identify trends, and support evidence-based decision-making.

About You

You are a curious and analytical data professional with a strong understanding of relational databases and experience transforming complex, raw data into accurate, well-defined datasets, dashboards and reports. You can confidently interrogate large datasets, identify trends and insights, and translate technical information into clear, practical recommendations for a range of audiences.

With strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, you are adept at partnering with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You bring advanced capability in tools such as Power BI and Excel, experience working with SQL-based environments and modern data practices, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing business needs. Qualifications in data analysis or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience, will support your success in this role.

You Belong Here

Here, every role has purpose.

Whether you’re delivering frontline legal services or strengthening our organisation from behind the scenes, you’ll help create fairer outcomes for the people across NSW.

We’re building a workplace where every culture, identity, ability and voice are included and valued. We welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with visible and invisible disability, culturally diverse communities, and LGBTQI+ communities so you can connect and flourish at every stage of career.

You will be part of a diverse and inclusive organisation, working alongside like-minded and values driven people dedicated to justice, community impact, and delivering exceptional support and service through cross collaboration.
